Teaser Tuesday

• Grab your current read.
• Let the book fall open to a random page.
• Share with us two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page.
• You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from. That way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

Paris Peasant by Louis Aragorn
Page 59 - Boasting three frontages, on the Galerie du Thermomètre, the little corridor I have just mentioned, and the Boulevard de Italiens, a Café Biard stands opposite the Librairie Rey. Main room containing bar counter, back room, with your multiple doors, your glass wall-panels still recalling nostalgically the 10-centime coffee, the 20-centime vermouth and soda, of vanished eras, with your pillars and your mirrors, you consitute a delightful palace of reflections resembling everything that we dreamers of Europe know about far-off America and its bloodstained epics. You are the setting for hidden crimes, dastardly plots, pursuits and ambushes.

Oh, this does sound intriguing... and a little time in Paris would be a nice change from all this snow!

Heck, yes! You must be getting an ungodly amount right now too.

"You are the setting for hidden crimes, dastardly plots, pursuits and ambushes." A mythologized setting. Gotta love that description! And if you and JoAnn are leaving for Paris, please do not forget me? And as for the cold weather this year? Hate it. Makes me grumpy but also makes me read more because I don't want to go outside.
