Moo Pak by Gabriel Josipovici
Page 39 - The painter can convey the very meaning of the other, he said as we stood looking at the river, whether his style is that of Holbein or Auerbach, Rembrandt or Hockney, but the writer can only do that by means of his entire narrative, not in a paragraph or two of description. The more adjectives he uses the less likely we are to respond to his characters.

great teaser!
here's mine: teaser tuesday at oodles of books.
Oh, I like your teaser. Though I am not sure if I agree that the painter has it easier than the writer. Guess I will just have to test it out for myself.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit. ~ Miranda
Wonderful teaser! Very true!
My TT is here.
You wouldn't try to understand an entire painting from a square inch reproduced from it, would you? So a teaser can not be an entire book. As to the adjectives, it's still best to have a few. Or so my editor keeps telling me.
Hmm, that's a tough one. Although he's most of the way right about the adjectives....
My teaser's at http://hampshireflyer.wordpress.com/2010/06/22/teaser-tuesday-18/
What a wonderful teaser, something to think about. My TT: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/06/teaser-tuesday-day-for-night.html
