Teaser Tuesday

• Grab your current read.
• Let the book fall open to a random page.
• Share with us two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page.
• You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from. That way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
Pages 99 - "When the world was young, and the woods were wide and wild, the Ents and the Entwives - and there were Entmaidens then: ah! the loveliness of Fimbrethil, of Wandlimb the lightfooted in the days of our youth! - they walked together and they housed together. But our hearts did not go on growing in the same way: the Ents gave their love to things that they met in the world, and the Entwives gave their thoughts to other things, for the Ents loved the great trees, and the wild woods and the slopes of the high hills; they drank of the mountainstreams, and ate only such fruit as the trees let fall in their path; and they learned of the Elves and spoke with the Trees.

That's really quite lovely. I sort of have had the movie take over my consciousness of the story, and forgot the lyrical nature of the books.

That excerpt really makes me miss Tolkien's writing, and wish I had joined the read-along. I know some people enjoy LoTR but find his prose stuff - but I've always loved it.
