TRISTANIA, or A Superior Norweigan Product

And so, in a stunning turn of events, I failed to finish Kristin Lavransdatter. Since I can't do a post on a book I haven't read, I bring you instead the epic, hauntingly beautiful sounds of Tristania. Like Kristin Lavransdatter, Tristania is from Norway. Beyond that, they have absolutely nothing in common.

Norwegian Gothic metal > Norwegian medieval dramz

Silly grrl the best thing about being an adult is that if you don't like it you don't have to finish it! Have a happy New Year!

Can't stop laughing. The only good part about finishing Kristin is that you get to breathe a sigh of relief when she finally dies. Hope this is not a spoiler for you. Assuming you will not re-visit the trilogy. Assuming that you anticipated her death as Undset's mind-numbing detailing could only be stopped by the limits of mortality. There are better reads in our future though!

OMG, between you and Frances I am snickering uncontrollably! I am really proud of you for not finishing - it was more than I could do... I'm too stubborn for my own good. I'm pretty sure I killed a few brain cells with this one!

How cruel to Kristin everyone is! Perhaps if she had talked about how sinful she is FOR YET ANOTHER 200 PAGES everyone would have felt more sorry for her! Or less guilty at celebrating when she dies! :--)

Thanks everyone! I felt kinda guilty about not following through with the read-along so it's great to see everyone backing me up!

I love Tristania. They are my favorite band.

Yes, totally! Tristania is a lot closer to what I usually listen to.
