WTF?

You're going to have to excuse me a moment. I just finished Haruki Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle and I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet. It was very . . . odd?

Hey--Hmmm...it's not like you to lose your voluability; gives me a bit of a turn, particularly since I recently downloaded Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman on the advice--urging, even--of a student. Haven't started it yet; Shlimar the Clown is ahead of it in my queue, and I need to finish the last 9% of book three of George R.R. Martin's Songs of Ice and Fire, which is giving me freaking PAROXYMS! (I truly never knew I might ever find an author I at once loathe completely while hang on EVERY. FREAKING. WORD.) It remains to be seen whether I will take up book four after the Rushdie or leave it 'til after Murakami...A more..ahem, thorough? review to follow this one might help tip me one way of the other...Hope all is well with you; I've just completed the school year and a very trying several weeks of brotherly illness followed by death and worries about my mom who has lost two children too closely and too soon. *sigh* Summer will be good for me this year, I know. If you are following my 'blog on occasion, you'll note that many of my posts this summer will be repeats of their postings last summer--it is time to bring my new batch of babes along in their critical consideration.

I'd like to read After Dark. I liked Wind-Up, it was just . . . weird.
