Teaser Tuesdays

• Grab your current read.
• Let the book fall open to a random page.
• Share with us two "teaser" sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
• You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from. That way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

2666
(Book 3: The Part About Fate) by
Roberto Bolaño
Page 265 - The waitress brought Fate's coffee and the steak with salsa. The young man was still talking about the person called Jurevich who'd been caught by the white-haired man.

An American Tragedy by Thomas Dreiser
Page 479 [letter excerpt] - Oh, Clyde, you will never know. You have said that you would come, and sometimes I just know you will.

The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafron
Page 279 - I heard the shutters in Isabella's bedroom opening on the floor below. A rectangle of light fell across the courtyard, punctured by the profile of her silhouette.

Resistance (Star Trek: The Next Generation) by J.M. Dillard
Page 131 - Something about the way the captain's eyes had fallen on her told her that he already had a plan. The Enterprise could never survive a battle with the cube; retreat seemed the only answer.

OK. I am laughing right now. One of the things I love about your blog is it's anything goes approach. Look at that list! The first three would never indicate that the fourth would ever be admitted to in public. Who wouldn't love this? Resistance is futile.

Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny
Page 251 - Sam seated himself and watched the city burn. The sounds of fighting died down and ceased. There was only flame.

Yeah, three sentences rather than two, but really couldn't leave off on the second sentence.

Frances: I plan on reading the Destiny trilogy next! Mother of all Borg invasions!

James: What a powerful punch for three sentences!
