Book: Unchosen: The Hidden Lives of Hasidic Rebels by Hella Winston
Page 17 - I could have told him about people like Steinmetz, the twenty-four-year-old bibliophile, who spends his days working in a small Judaica store in his community and - unbeknownst to his "narrow-minded" wife, or members of his highly respected rabbinical family - his days off anxiously evading discovery in the library of the Conservative Jewish Theological Seminary. A religious man who first became curious when he went to Israel at sixteen to attend yeshiva, Steinmetz has never been to a movie theater, visited a bar, or even watched TV, for fear of where any of that could lead him.
Actually, that began on line 5. Oh well, this is my first time doing this.

It's not a novel, but that's what I'm reading, and it's good.
